Using HTCondor Batch

The shared Tier-3 facility uses the HTCondor batch system, and this document will explain how to use HTCondor in the Tier-3 environment.

Please see this documentation for more general information regarding HTCondor at the RACF.

Running Jobs

Our environment uses a feature of HTCondor called Accounting Groups to share resources among the various institutions using this pool.

HTCondor Policy Tier 3

Job Requirements

Jobs must belong to an Accounting Group, as documented in the Usage document.

The following are limitations that the jobs must meet or face eviction or non-starting:

Self-Service MFA deletion portal

MFA Deletion process

Don't forget to delete the existing token on your mobile device or browser before creating a new one.

DMARC Policy

Domain-Based Message Authentication, Reporting & Conformance (DMARC) Policy

BNL Cyber Security has implemented an email authentication policy called DMARC, a domain-based message authentication, reporting, and conformance policy that relies on the DKIM (DomainKeys Identified Mail) and SPF (sender policy framework) email authentication protocols.

Change SDCC Password

How to change SDCC facility passwords

SDCC facility users can change their Kerberos and/or email passwords using the following procedures:

User Accounts

Obtaining a computer account on SDCC systems requires a valid guest appointment or employment at BNL and successful completion of BNL Cyber Security Training (GE-CYBERSEC). Once these prerequisites are complete, new users can “Get Started” by visiting the SDCC home page at https://www.sdcc.bnl

About dCache

Overview

dCache is a sophisticated system that allows transparent access to files on disk or stored on magnetic tape drives in hierarchical storage managers (HSMs). dCache is a joint venture between the Deutsches Elektronen-Synchrotron (DESY), Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory (FNAL), and Nordic e-Infrastructure collaboration (NeIC).
