Teams can only be created by a Sysadmin. If you need a Private/Public Team created for your group, please send an email to RT-RACF-GCE@bnl.gov. Once a private team has been created , users can join the private team in multiple ways, see below.

Adding Members to a Private Team

There are three ways to add an user to a private team.

1. Send Email invite.

This can be accessed through the "Main menu" in the top left corner. Users who do have SDCC accounts will have to create an account before they can join the private team.

Send Email Invite dialog.

2. Team Invite link.

This can be accessed through the "Main menu" in the top left corner. An invite URL can be sent to users, which the users can use to join a private link. The URL hash can be regenerated by a Team admin.SDCC users should use "GitLab Single Sign on" option to login.

Send Team Invite dialog.

3. Add members to team manually

This can be accessed through the "Main menu" in the top left corner. Each user can be individually selected and added to the team by any member of the private team.

Private/Public Channels can be created by any user in a team. For an user to join a private channel, the user would have to be added by an existing member of the group.
