    Description:
    On Monday, July 26, the SDCC sent out an announcement about the availability of Overleaf as a facility service.
    The service is available to users within CSI and Physics who have contributed to purchasing the licenses, not as
    a general service. If you are not sure whether or not your group has contributed, please ask your group leader
    or contact the SDCC for more information. Apologies for this significant omission.

    The license cost is very reasonable, and if your group is interested, please contact us to request licenses and/or
    more information.

    Description:
    HPSS will be down for a system upgrade from 8:00 AM on Monday 8/2 through 8:00 PM on Thursday 8/5. During the upgrade, it will not be possible to write or retrieve files from the HPSS system. HPSS transfer tools including hsi, htar and pftp will not be available during the scheduled downtime.

    Description:
    Mattermost Email notification will be enabled on 07/29/2021. Users who are offline will receive email notification on receiving direct messages and @mentions. Email notifications are enabled by default for all users and can be disabled if needed by navigating to Account Settings -> Notifications.

  • Datacenter CDCE Room Cooling Restored

    The cooling issues in the CDCE room in our datacenter were resolved by F&O, and all systems and services were brought back online around 2:00 PM. If you continue to experience any issues, please report them via RT.

    Approximately 250 nodes in the shared pool (spool0XYZ) and the ATLAS T1 (acas0XYZ) shut themselves down automatically.

    Description:
    The CDCE room in our datacenter suffered another cooling failure around 10:30 AM this morning (6/29). Approximately 250 nodes in the shared pool (spool0XYZ) and the ATLAS T1 (acas0XYZ) shut themselves down automatically to avoid equipment damage at 10:45 AM. F&O is working on the problem, and we are continuing to monitor if additional compute node shutdowns are needed to shed heat load.
