What Products are on the CD-ROM?

Although the Oracle8 Client for Windows NT and Windows 95 CD-ROM in your kit contains many Oracle products, you may install and use only those products for which you have purchased licenses. For additional licensing information, refer to the Global License Terms booklet in your kit. Oracle Worldwide Customer Support does not provide support for products where licenses have not been purchased.

IMPORTANT:

If you purchased Oracle Web Application Server, install the Oracle Web Application Server CD-ROM first.

If you attempt to install the Oracle Web Application Server CD-ROM after installing Oracle8 Client for Windows NT and Windows 95, dialog boxes appear requesting if you want to downgrade the software components. Select No to those messages.

When you run Oracle Installer, a dialog box displays several product installation options. If you choose Oracle8 Client, a group of products are automatically installed. If you choose Custom Installation, you can selectively install products. Available options depend upon the operating system you are using:

Oracle Products for Windows 3.1x

Oracle products for Windows 3.1x are provided for backward compatibility with Oracle7. Note that there are no Oracle8 components available on Windows 3.1x. When you run Oracle Installer, a dialog box displays several product installation options. If you choose Oracle7 Application User or Oracle7 Network Manager, a group of products is automatically installed. If you choose Custom Installation, you can selectively install products.
