Post-Bulletin Announcements

We are just days away from the start of CHEP 2012, and the local organizing committee (LOC) would like to provide the following useful information to all arriving participants.

Directions to Kimmel and Skirball

Please refer to the maps listed on our home page for the locations of Kimmel and Skirball. You must bring a photo ID (passport, driver's license) to check-in, and you must present a photo ID and conference badge to access the conference venue on the first day. After the first day, the badge will be sufficient.

Uploading presentations to Indico

Poster and oral contributions should be uploaded to Indico the morning of the presentation (see CHEP timetable).

Laptops provided for plenary and parallel sessions will be equipped to display MicroSoft-based (i.e., PowerPoint) and PDF presentations. Participants are asked to prepare accordingly.

To maximize the productivity of conference sessions, the LOC discourages the usage of USB keys and personal laptops for presentations.

Dorm Check-In

For those staying at the NYU Dorm (Founders Hall), it is located at 120 East 12th Street in Manhattan. You can get there by taxi or public transportation (see Lodging) from the various airports.

The LOC will staff the check-in and registration desk at Founders Hall from 3-8 pm. After 8 pm, NYU housing will check-in arriving participants. The check-in desk at the dorm is open 24 hours/day. Participants must present photo ID at check-in, and keys can only be checked-out to participants with confirmed reservations. Suite-mates and colleagues are not allowed to check-out someone's key.

Conference Tours

Very few people have signed up for conference tours so far. Please see Tours for a selection of conference tours available to conference participants and companions. Tour reservations can be made through the link at the bottom of the page.

Individual tours may be cancelled if an insufficient number of participants sign up.

Electronic voting system for Lightning Presentations

The LOC has partnered with Conference4me to create an electronic voting system to select the lightning presentations scheduled for the Thursday and Friday plenary sessions, which will be selected from the poster presentations. Registered participants can vote for a poster via the Conference4me mobile app (for Android and iOS mobile devices) or a special web form. The LOC will announce the selected lightning presentations the day before the respective plenary sessions.

Further details will be provided during the conference.
