Dear Collaborator,, There has been an ongoing search for finding sufficient funds so Phenix and Star could achieve a first measurement of delta-G within the context of run-3. This has been achieved as indicated by the message from Phil Pile indicating the extension of the run another week. This is the definite end in all cases. This means that we should also be able to in addition to the completion of the pp comparison run to make a measurement of Ann (transverse) polarization. It does raises a severe shift scheduling issue, since the present people coverage is only through Wednesday; It will be determined this afternoon when in fact pp2pp will run. Our position is that it is better to have them run at the end since it leaves most time between the exp and the coll meeting, and requeires no change-over from our exp, and return. The word is Phenix favours pp2pp runs right away so this is probably what will happen.
