.I will like to share the information on RHIC running conditions as put forward by T.Roser CA-D, I include the message from Tom Kirk to the spokespeople and want to share it with you. The text is NOT attached to the message but can be found. In addition it summarisez the time-scale for the RHIC Beam Use Proposal . A pointer to a pdf copy can be found on www.sdcc.bnl.gov/brahms/private/presentations.html and should also be on the CA-D department webpages. regards Flemming " Attached to this note is Thomas Roser's paper on RHIC operating expectations as we discussed and promised to you for your use in preparing the Beam Use Proposals for the FY 2003 run. I found this a very concise and clear paper and expect it to help you in your planning. It is, obviously, a projection rather than a guarantee of machine performance. The whole C-AD is dedicated to the best run that can be provided for you. Now, some guidance on the schedule for consideration of the Beam Use Proposals (BUPS) for the PAC. I am setting the date of MONDAY, AUGUST 12, close of business, as the due date for these proposals for each RHIC experiment. This is to respond to the overlap of the preparation with Quark Matter this year. The PAC Meeting this year is scheduled for Monday, August 26 and Tuesday, August 27. I would like to receive the BUPS in a common electronic form for re-distribution to the PAC. This could be Microsoft Word, ASCII text or a PDF file. If I only get a paper version, I will need it at NOON of the same due date to allow for redistribution by mail. I hope to see these BUPS in electronic format. If you plan to submit any other physics proposals, including RHIC II R&D Proposals, these must to follow the usual format, namely, 35 paper copies delivered to Elaine Zukowski's office by close of business on THURSDAY, AUGUST 1, 2002. The earlier due date is to allow for subcommittee consideration as well as full PAC assessment.
