As you may have seen Bjoern Samset has written a note on tracking effeciency of TPM1.
It is now available through the Analysis Note web page.

I will also menton that Micheal Murray has thought about extended PID in mRS and written a 
proposal for an inexpensive cerenkov. it is meant for discussion, and comments, and is available
as a regular brahms note on the web.
