Just tried to checkout BRAT from scratch no problem there. 

It's odd, 'cause brat/dc/src/BrLocalTrackDC.cxx haven't changed since 
2000/11/23, so that you see this problem only now seems to point at
some problem with the CVS you are using, or something like that.

Sounds odd.  Which CVS version are you using?  I'm using 1.10.7 on
Redhat Linux 6.2, i386.
