Hello. OpenOffice 1.0 is installed on pii8, pii9 and pii10. To
use it, you need to run the setup. It will be eventually installed on all
pii pc. Anyway, follow the instruction below for setup. (You only need
to do this once in one of pii8, 9 and 10 machine.)

    1. Run the setup by
    	/usr/local/OpenOffice.org1.0/setup
    2. Follow the online instraction for installation with the following
    important points.
    	1. Make sure you choose "Workstation Installation" since this
only requires 2.1 MB of local space. Do not select the other one because
it requires 210 MB of space.
    	2. If you get "No Java and Java script", you need to select
    "Browse". And, enter "/usr/java/jdk1.3.1"

That should end the setup of the OpenOffice. To use it, you need to set
PATH to the installation directory (The default installation directory is
~usrname/OpenOffice.org1.0) Or, you need to go to that directory, and
type "./soffice" This will start the program.

To print, you need to setup the printer by following way.
    1. go to the installation directory
    2. type "./spadmin" This starts the printer setup screen.
    3. Click "New Printer".
    4. with "Add a printer" selected, click "Next"
    5. with "Generic Printer" selected, click "Next"
    6. type "lpr -Pqms_510" for command to print to qms_510 and click "Next".
    7. change the name to "qms_510" and click to "Finish".
    8. Repeat this process for "b_psct" and "b_pscp" and any other printers
    you want to print.
    9. Click "Close" to finish the printer setup.

Now, you should be able to print your documents.

If people use OpenOffice and not MSOffice, you are kind to the Linux
forks since MSOffice does not work under Linux (not quite true). Let's
try to get rid of MSOffice since it costs too much money. For MSWindows
forks, there is a version of OpenOffice for MSWindows to use. Therefore,
you will not be left out. For OS X Apple forks, unfortunately there is no
    version avilable (yet???).
