Folks, these are the instructions on how to run the TPC pad monitor to look at the current TPC data. On either opus or the pii's, run: > /home/daq/bin/padm /home/daq/config/padm-XXX.conf Where "padm-XXX.conf" is the name of the configuration file for a specific TPC. Currently exist: padm-j.conf ("J" pad map), padm-tpc1.conf and padm-tpc2.conf. The configuration files are stored in CVS, in "oncs/config", and the two /home/daq/config areas (on opus and pii3) are manually kept in sync. Other useful tidbits: - the "padm" sources live in CVS, in "/afs/rhiv/brahms/BRAHMS_CVS/oncs/TpcPadMonitor". - it builds and runs on sunos5.7 (using gcc/g++ 2.95.1). - it builds and runs on redhat linux 6.0 and 6.1, but building requires Motif (not tested with lesstif). The executable I build on pii3:/home/daq/bin/padm is statically linked with Motif, and should run on computers where motif is not installed. -- Konstantin Olchanski Physics Department, Brookhaven National Laboratory, Long Island, New York olchansk@bnl.gov
