Upgrading the pii's!!

We have begun upgrading the pii's to Red Hat Linux release 6.1 
with Kernel 2.2.12-20smp and installing AFS 3.5.2.

This has been done on the machines that are in our building:
pii2.hirg.bnl.gov,  pii8.brahms.bnl.gov and pii9.hirg.bnl.gov.

Additionally, the access to these nodes has modified for the sake of
computer security.

It looks like this so far and can be modified as necessary:
ALL services still ok from .hirg.bnl.gov  idas.bnl.gov cycomp.tamu.edu
ssh1 and ssh2 logins ok from all nodes
ftp ok from rftpexp.rcf.bnl.gov and rmine04.rcf.bnl.gov 

Let us know when you discover problems on these nodes,
so we can fix things up before the nodes in the Countinhg House are
upgraded. 

We would like to finish the other nodes in early March.
