First Announcement of International Workshop
Tracking in high Multiplicity Environments (TIME '05)
October 03-07, 2005. Zurich, Switzerland
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

High multiplicties and large tracking densities represent real software and hardware challenges to detectors in particle physics. Therefore, we are organizing a special workshop dedicated to general tracking and/or vertexing issues in high multiplicity environments at existing or planned experiments in particle physics.

The workshop's goal is to bring together the people working on hardware and software aspects of tracking devices and to share experience from running experiments to people working on future experiments. The workshop will take place from October 3rd to October 7th, 2005. The location will
be Zurich/Switzerland.

We are expecting more than 50 participants from particle physics laboratories and universities worldwide and are organizing four plenary sessions on the following topics.

I: Operational and system aspects of tracking/vertex detectors

II: Tracking and vertexing algorithms in high multiplicity environments

III: Detector performance limitations due to radiation environment and aging

 IV: New detector technologies

Key-note presentations will be given by invited speakers. We are
asking all workshop participants for contributions on one of these
topics.

For more information, registration and abstract submission please visit our web site:

http://ckm.physik.unizh.ch/time05

Please advertise this workshop announcement within your collaboration.
We are looking forward to seeing you in Zurich.

Sincerely,

On behalf of the
TIME '05 local organization committee:

Frank Lehner
