Hello, Following is an abstract for the p+p ratios for the DNP04 meeting. Comments are welcome. Kris \author{K. Hagel\\for the BRAHMS collaboration} \title{Charged Hadron Ratios in p + p collisions at $\sqrt{s}=200GeV$} Particle production from elementary $p+p$ collisions is currently poorly known, especially at forward rapidities. The understanding of these elementary nucleon-nucleon collisions at the same center of mass energy as Heavy Ion collisions ($Au+Au$) at RHIC forms an important baseline reference for those Heavy Ion collisions. BRAHMS has the unique ability to measure identified hadrons over a wide range of rapidity and transverse momentum. Charged hadron ratios from $p+p$ collisions at $\sqrt{s}=200$ GeV will be presented for the rapidity range $0 < y < 3$ for data that were taken with the BRAHMS spectrometers. Energy systematics as well as comparisons to results from $Au+Au$ collisions at the same energy are discussed. The comparison to theoretical models shows that additional mechanisms to the quark-diquark breaking mechanisms is needed to transport baryons away from the beam rapidity and reproduce the data. \end{document} _______________________________________________ Brahms-l mailing list Brahms-l@lists.bnl.gov http://lists.bnl.gov/mailman/listinfo/brahms-lReceived on Wed Jun 30 18:40:41 2004
