As you may be aware of, at the higher intensities RHIC is limited by vacuum issues. The CA-D vaccum group has proposed to coat several beampipes to reduce #liberated electrons from the sides. The plans has been discussed in a couple of meeting. The impact on Brahms is not great due to our open geometry, and we went along with the plan. There is a small added thickness in the Al section (not seen by spectrometer by about 10 mill) which we (fv/dana) considers insignificant based on earlier simulation for the BB response some years back More details can be found at the web-page referenced below Flemming ---------------------------------------------------------------- Flemming Videbaek Physics Department Brookhaven National Laboratory e-mail: videbaek@bnl.gov phone: 631-344-4106 > To all: > > My meeting summary of yesterday's IR Vacuum meeting as well as Dick's and > Bill's presentations can be found on the web at > > http://server.c-ad.bnl.gov/esfd/RHIC-IR-Vacuum/RHIC_Vacuum.htm > <http://server.c-ad.bnl.gov/esfd/RHIC-IR-Vacuum/RHIC_Vacuum.htm> > > If anyone has anything to add - PHENIX work day accounting? - please send to > me and I'll put it on the web > > Phil > > > _______________________________________________ Brahms-l mailing list Brahms-l@lists.bnl.gov http://lists.bnl.gov/mailman/listinfo/brahms-lReceived on Wed Mar 31 10:22:42 2004
