Dear collaborators, I will try to summarize what has happened in response to my "call to action" of last week. This is a brief summary of what I know, and if there is anything left out, it is more likely due to the early hour than to ill will. GEOMETRY: The best available description of the exp. is in the db. Some "finetuning" is being done in Krakow (using tracking), though the final description may need to wait until more surveying can be done. CALIBRATIONS: PEDESTALS CEJ has kindly been volunteered. He has implemented some detectors that were not, and is starting a systematic pass through the data set. BB: SZ has looked at some calibrations. The "gain" calibs may be a bit more tricky than before since we calibrate on the 1 MIP peak, but our data are biased to central events. I noticed this on an early run I tried to calibrate, it is possible to set the fit range (per tube) to get the 1 MIP (which will not necessarily be the most intense peak). The scripts for doing these calibs exist together with the TOF subsytems, so these efforts need to be coördinated TOF: DO is tesing existing scripts RICH,C1,C4: CEJ has volunteered for this as well, so I hope FV doesn't give him too many shifts... CENTRALITY: This is "essentially" done, and checked in for an early run(SS). Needs to be checked for a later run(IGB) DCs DC calibrations are underway in Krakow ZDCs Will be started in about 2 weeks (MM) TPCs IGB promised scripts and documentation by the end of the week. Of course, he was referring to the fiscal, not the calendar, week. So, technically, the promise has not yet been broken. The scripts work, there are nice utilities for obtaining graphical output of the results. The scripts need to be collected, the documentation updated, and the whole made public. That is what I can think of early Monday morning. Comments are welcome, happy calibrating, Ian Bearden _______________________________________________ Brahms-l mailing list Brahms-l@lists.bnl.gov http://lists.bnl.gov/mailman/listinfo/brahms-lReceived on Mon Mar 8 00:11:07 2004
