Dear Collaborator, As you should have observed RHIC is now officially in production mode, an have in fact delivered quite nice stores since Wednesday, with rebucketing in place, the vertex reasonable centered, and intensities of ZDC ~ 1200 at initial stores. The data we have taken so far are mainly for debugging purposes, an several problems have been identified. Please consult the e-log for additional details. The data we will collect will be min bias for the next 2 shifts after which we can hopefully deploy the spectrometer triggers; the first physics goal will be to make the detailled survey of y~2-3.5 at low to intermediate pt for protons, and anti-protons in particular before we move on to higher pt running. People at BNL will checkout the hardware carefully, but help is needed to evaluate performance of all detectors in particluar DC and TPC tracking. It does not make sense to embark on a detailled measurements if it turns out that settings have to be changed. To facilitate this we generate the ltr-files from the data taken every day; these can be found in /brahms/data14/data/auau/200/ltr.. These are very preliminary - the pad status+time offsets are from an early cal, but no drift vel. cal has been made. Never the less these can be usefull to identify problems, cheking rates, effeciencies. Please do not generate alternate files with the same information-disk space is at high demand. regards Flemming ---------------------------------------------------------------- Flemming Videbaek Physics Department Brookhaven National Laboratory e-mail: videbaek@bnl.gov phone: 631-344-4106 _______________________________________________ Brahms-l mailing list Brahms-l@lists.bnl.gov http://lists.bnl.gov/mailman/listinfo/brahms-lReceived on Fri Jan 2 18:44:14 2004
