Hi, I've finished a new version of the multiplicity paper. http://kunuc6.phsx.ukans.edu/~sanders/dndeta03_2col.pdf or http://kunuc6.phsx.ukans.edu/~sanders/dndeta03.pdf (for a draft that might be easier to mark up). The tex files, figures, root macro to generate the figures, data files, etc. are all located on rcas under ~sanders/dndeta03 This is the paper that Flemming indicated I had hoped to have completed last weekend. Unfortunately, it turned out that the final BB analysis was much more difficult than Hiro had expected. Indeed, the current draft is based on the same BB results Hiro showed at the DNP meeting, but he assures me that his newer analysis has not led to any significant changes. The draft still lacks the min-bias BB results, but that will not change anything that is being said or claimed. The hope is that the paper committee will review and comment on this draft quickly and that we will be able to make a publication announcement within the next week--assuming, of course, that no serious flaws are uncovered. I consider the draft complete except for a few touchups needed for the figures: In addition to the min bias BB data, some of the uncertainty bands need to be reviewed and potentially revised. There are significant changes from the last draft. These reflect in part my concern that what was previously proposed ran too parallel to the PHOBOS publication. That draft was released before PHOBOS released their preprint and I had a chance to see what they were claiming. The new twist is one proposed by Dieter that we include lower energy d+Au results for comparison--I think this is making an interesting story. The current draft is a few lines long for a PRL or Rapid Communication so, if you think we should publish in one of these journals, any suggestions to add material should include a corresponding suggestion of what to remove.
