Dear Colleague, Attached is another version of the Beam Use proposal; It has many comments from several of you in regard to the physics requests. On the priorities in terms of physics it is written as i) 200 GeV AuAu ~ 240 mub -1 ii) if 37 weeks in Run-4 then low energy from operatiional concerns otherwise followed by 200 geV Fe in Run-5. and then lower energy AuAu. I believe that much of how this comes out in the end to be science policy based on primarely request from the two large experiments+ the PAC opinions in the end. My observation that the most likely scenarios is that next year will be 200 GeV AuAu + a 4-5 weeks pp commisioning period, and the run-5 a HI perio and a pp period of about ququal length. My home work for tomorrow is to convert the light ion request into integrated luminosity. It is obvious from a response from CA to Dana that Fe is as good a choice as Si for a light beam. CA-D has delivered both with high intensities to NASA via tandem+booster. The deadline for the final submission is Sunday afternoon. I hope to get last significant contrinution during the ay tomorrow, but will include stuff by Saturday too. regards Flemming ------------------------------------------------------ Flemming Videbaek Physics Department Brookhaven National Laboratory tlf: 631-344-4106 fax 631-344-1334 e-mail: videbaek@bnl.gov -- Flemming Videbaek Brookhaven National Laboratory Physics Department tlf 631-344-4106 fax 631-344-1334 e-mail: videbaek@bnl.gov
