RHIC continues to have problems with the overnight stores, as well as the further development of beams. From this mornings CAD-meeting Dana reported the following/ The plans for the weekend are: collisions tonight. No collisions likely for the day on Sat. Collisions Sat night. MAYBE collisions in the day on Sunday. Collisions Sunday night. It appears that they did not properly estimate the size of the orbit change from the rotators. A failure occured at 11PM till 2am. By that time Physicist support staff was gone. Operators could not figure out the beams at several IRs. Note added: Apperently the timing was different in the two beams so colliison could not be achived around the hole ring. In regard to Sunday day-time running I will get information (I sure hope so) from Adam Rusek the scheduling physicist tomorrow, so I can inform you. regrads Flemming ------------------------------------------------------ Flemming Videbaek Physics Department Brookhaven National Laboratory tlf: 631-344-4106 fax 631-344-1334 e-mail: videbaek@bnl.gov
