    I guess that excludes the danish ligatures and accents too :-) 
    
    Hiro, I guess you have to tell that there are 3 (or is it 4?)
    alphabets in Japanese: Kanji - like the Chinese signs, Katakana  - for 
    foreign words (or is that Hirakana?), and Hirakana - which is
    `womens'-language, and possibly Romani too.
