Dear Collaborator As you may have seen there will be an access day tomorrow Wednesday. The main activities will be 1)the initial installation of the C4 Cherenkov detector. Steve, Ramiro an Hiro are currently mounting the mirrors, and by tomorrow should be reay to move the parts/sections to thye IR assembling the detector, and start the filling with C4F10. If all goes well we may have time to move the detector the the MRS platform before the 5 pm shutoff time; It may though require a couple of more short accesses before PMTs are mounted, connected and reay to take beam. 2) Switch the non-working L1458A with a repaired version. The concern here is really that it is not understood whey the thermal overload and loss of 24V lines get about. One possible action might be to remove the critical TPC field voltages and anodes from the L4158A and move to seperate supplies even though this may make operation more cumbersome. 3) Investigating the DC problems in T3 module 1 and T5 module 2. regards Flemming -- Flemming Videbaek Brookhavne National Laboratory Physics Department tlf 631-344-4106 fax 631-344-1334 e-mail: videbaek@bnl.gov
