Hi all,
As you probably are aware off, M$ has a `funny' tendency to do things
a little bit different than the rest of the world, and most often
something that's not really standardised formally. Hence, when one
`exports' a PPT to HTML, they do some funny stuff that isn't in
keeping with any HTML standard, and some browser (rightly) refuses to
render the pages (Doesn't include the Gecko of KHtml based ones
though). Anyway, the problem is, that some may not be able to study
the Shifter's Guide prior to arriving at BNL (a sleeping pill for the
7H flight across the pond?). Hence I took the PPT file, opened it in
OpenOffice.org 1.0.1, and exported it to a PDF. The PDF can be found
at
pii3.brahms.bnl.gov/~brahmlib/shift_guide.pdf.gz
Some one with access to the operator account should put it on the
SHIFT pages, as that's were it belongs. The file is pretty big
(though smaller than the PPT), so you may need to print it in
`stages', depending on how much RAM your printer has.
It would be nice, if people would produce PDF/PS files of their PPT
files as a matter of course, so that _everyone_ can look at their
work.
Yours,
