A brief update on the run. The physics run-period has not yet been entered but is getting close. Beam will be made available to experiments most of this weekend for detector commisioning, and sometime next week it should get into a mode with even more time for experiments (this week was dismal). The obvious reason this is needed is the lack of intensity at the 5-10% of nominal lum wth min goal being around 20%. So far the beam available has mainly been for setting up triggers, and taking a first look at detectors and calibration the data so far so in no way be considered physics running. More information should be flowing to the experiment in as the shifts will start, and reports be given. I also hope that experinece form looking at the data are made common. Most but not all system are up running, t with some problem showed up recently. This concerns many bad FEE cards in TPM1 and problems with turning on T3. This will be addressed on the next access day on Wednesday. I will be on vacation all of next week, and have asked JH to be 'run coordinator' during this period i.e he will follow the daily progress, being available evaluating problems. A first shift list for the weekend and next week has been posted on the pii3, with the caveat at this time in the beam development that part of the time may be used for beam development to de determined on a short notice. The datataking for the weekend is mainly to get a large sample of data for FS and MRS to evaluate detector response and establish calibrations as well as trigger performance. regards Felmming ------------------------------------------------------ Flemming Videbaek Physics Department Brookhaven National Laboratory tlf: 631-344-4106 fax 631-344-1334 e-mail: videbaek@bnl.gov ------------------------------------------------------ Flemming Videbaek Physics Department Brookhaven National Laboratory tlf: 631-344-4106 fax 631-344-1334 e-mail: videbaek@bnl.gov
