Dear BRAHMs collaborators Upon returning from QM and vacation (well rested) I would like congratulate the entire BRAHMS collaboration and in particular our 4 speakers (CEJ, DO, JHL and IGB) for what I consider a significant scientific success. Of course this success is a result of a concerted effort from many BRAHMS collaborators. >From many conversations I am left with the clear impression that BRAHMS made its distinct and convincing mark at QM2002, and that the quality of the experiment and analysis work and the desire to be at the front line is much appreciated in the community. I personally feel that we have in full lived up to our promises: new, interesting and timely results as a function of rapidity providing unique physics insight. This is also now recognized by the funding agencies. The message is clear: BRAHMS has a unique niche in RHIC physics to exploit and is doing well. Ahead of us lie new challenges: -to integrate the entire collaboration better in the physics and analysis work -to develop a better and more efficient organization of the analysis and in particular a single stream analysis chain -to ensure a better organization leading to physics output and paper writing. I would like to bring these issues up for discussion at the collaborator and at the institute levels. Suggestions and discussion are welcome. cheers JJ ____________________________________________________________ Jens Jørgen Gaardhøje, Assoc. Prof., Dr. Sc.
