The CA-D has re-instituted that until further notice notice equipment CANNOT be removed from the 2 o'clock IR without an activation check. I recived a notice from Dana on the subject from which I cite

    "
I briefly reviewed the [activation]survey of the 2 o'clock area with Ken Borland (RCT). In addition, we went to the area and conducted some spot surveys. It appears that certain portions of the machine have become activated. We found no evidence of experimental items being activated, but we did not do an extensive survey. An example of a machine component which was found to be activated was the tapered transition pieces for the 5.5 inch to 3 inch beam pipe transition. The straight sections of the beam pipe on each side of the transition pieces were not activated.

I have requested that conspicuous posting be placed in the entrance way which requires items being removed to be activation checked."

Please recall this concerns any item , like detectors, electronics, readoutout cards,
that are presently in the IR. It is my understanding that equipment brought in now e.g. scopes can be taken out again right away. Please observe these rules and contact Dana if
there is any doubt how to carry this out

    regards
        Flemming
