    Date: Thu Jan 10 08:17:46 2002, Shift: 00:00-08:00
    Supervisor: KH, with:
    Log book#12 pages 36 - 39

    Shift Summary:
    ------------------------------------------------------------
    Machine Status:
Beam during most of the night. A store had started
at 22:50 and continued until 5:10 at which point PHENIX
and us voted to dump. Beam was stored and cogged again
    at 7:00.

    Achievements:
    Run trig 3 trig 6
    6394 210k 98k MRS 40 4B; FS 12 1/8B; ended at 5:10

Changed FS field to 1/4B before beam came back

Started run 6397 at 7:00 when beam came back with L-1, R-1 Inelastic triggers removed from the main trigger. Rates were reasonable. But DAQ crashed at 7:30 with a run error
which I didn't understand. I managed to get it back
    by restarting IoServer and RunServer.

    After investigation, I decided
it was probably the result a degraded beam quality. The
singles Inel rate L and R is about 300k! Currents in
T3 were very high. They are slowly coming down as is the
rate. At time of writing, they have come back down to
reasonable levels, so I will stop run 6397 and start a new
    one for the next shift.
