    FYI
As for this moment I do not yet know the implications of this. Should the progress this evening show this can not be fixed,
the experiment is mots likely off until late tomorrow. As noted the beam studies for tomorrow has be cancelled even regardless
    of this problem tomorrow.

    Stay tuned

    Hi,
this mornings access was extended due to a problem with an oil leak in a piston in the Westinghouse. This piston was replaced by about 12:30 today. At the same time we had a vacuum problem in the polarized source which could be repaired by 14:00. While all RHIC areas were long swept and we were ready to go, we discovered a booster vacuum problem which is still holding us down. At this point they plan to test the booster valves with beam. Depending on the result, we'll either have to fix this valve (order of 1 day!) or we are ready to run. In the latter case, we'll spend approximately 1 shift for tuning the ramping efficiency in RHIC before we go back to production mode. The goal is to achieve 3-4 Tp per ring in beam intensity. Beam studies are off for this week . I'll keep you posted,
