Hello. While taking a useless shift, I come up with one proposal for the next paper. For the next paper, the order of names should reflect the load of the shift they took. Why do we care English alphabetic order? Considering the fact that the majority of people in the collaboration do not speak English natively, we should forget this rule. (After scanning our name list quickly, I should be the first one if we use Japanese alphabetic order.) Anyway, here is how the new, improved and fair order of the name list is determined. 1. The more shifts you take, the earlier your name is listed. 2. To distinguish between three different shifts of a day, the evening and night shifts get 20% and 40% extra points respectively. 3. The weekend shifts get extra 25%. 4. The most unwanted shifts (thanks giving, Christmas and new years) get the extra 10 shifts for each shifts. 5. If two persons have the same shifts, it goes by seniority. (At least, the seniority counts something.) Considering we are in business of the experimental physics (not computational or theoretical), this will encourage people to take shifts willingly (No shift = No data !!!) since the "Laziest Young Ass" is going to be the last person in the list.
