It looked promising. We might be able to extend the maintenance periods from 3-4 days to weekly. In addition it seems that a more thorough cleaning (i.e. would need some 3-4 days shutdown) can be postponed until after the run. However, this remains to be seen and I'll keep you posted on the progress. The next Westinghouse maintenance is scheduled for this friday, 9:00-11:00 am. No other ring accesses are planed before then. At this point we are planing the following areas under controlled access: IP6, IP8, IP12 & IP10 (sharing the time) and sector 9 (snakes). If a ring entry becomes obsolete, please let MCR know in advance! We had another ring access (1h) earlier today which went smooth. We granted access to IP2, IP6, IP8 and sector 9 and no one blew the sweep (!) - although STAR had even 10 people going in! Thanks for timely response to every body :). In RHIC we are still working on turning on the snakes in the blue ring. This work might not be finished today and continues tomorrow. Please confirm with MCR for the success with 55x55 bunches colliding tonight before you come in.
