Progress has been made on this front today thanks to much work by Betty. It is now serving again as the ypserver 
for the brahms pii-machines.
Some problems remain- the opus disks do not mount on pii3. and the mysql database is not yet up running
Several of the pii's had to be re-booted, and two had (coincidently?) developed problems on or about the same time
One (pii2 in the user area is not working.
The DAQ is working as usual (except of course of writing to the DB, but xml-files are stored so once it is up running again
it should be ok.
