    Log book#9 pages 31 - 33

    Shift Summary:
    ------------------------------------------------------------
    1. Beam from 19:03 to 22:58. No 200MHz RF however and therefore
BB vertex with sigma ~ 53 cm even in the beginning. The wide
vertex distribution is probably the reason why the PHENIX operator
called and wondered if we'd like to join in and vote for dumping
the beam. So I did. Now PHENIX owe us one.
    2. Run 4888 with 211.5k trigger 1 events.
HOWEVER, NO SILICON IN THIS RUN (see below).
       Run 4890 with 102.1k trigger 1 events.
    3. Looking at supermon plots from the silicon array, there was no
(silicon) data. Both high and low voltages were on. Hiro came and
found that the gate for the silicon was in a funny mode. He cleared
it and data from silicon reappeared. It appears that this problem
occured sometime after the last store this morning.
Anodes on all DCs tripped once. However, several times BadTrip reported
trips without there being any trips. There appears to be some communication
problem to 1458B. This also causes bad communication from BRAHVO.
Using the HV1458B program one can verify that there is no trip. Suggesting
frequent monitoring with HV1458B rather than BadTrip untill the
       communication problem is fixed.
