Wed Sep 12 2001 17:30: We are currently attempting to restore RHIC operations after the 24-hour security shutdown of the C-AD accelerator complex. The intent is to return to physics operation as quickly as is possible, including both RHIC collision stores and SEB beam. SEB beamline energy reduction from 24 GeV/c to 21 GeV/c and spill lengthening will likely occur in the evening Wed Sep 12 or Thu Sep 13. BRAHMS is currently running with a 0.9 mrad crossing angle; good store ZDC coincidence rates now start between 600 and 800 Hz. RHIC 200 MHz development will resume from 0600-1200 Thu Sep 11 -- the objective for this work is to rephase all storage cavities in both rings at storage energy. There is a scheduled maintenance period on Fri Sep 14 for several repair items: AGS L10 RF cavity gap-shorting relay repair is scheduled to start prep at 0600, and PHENIX HV control mainframe repair is scheduled to start at 0800. This maintenance is expected to complete, with return to RHIC and SEB physics, by mid-afternoon on Friday.
