Dear Brahms shifter As you should be aware the exp. is being operated with a small crossing angle, that affects the ZDC rates compared to other experiments. In the current setup you should (see note below) expect a rate of 50-67% of other experiments. If it is below that, please call Main control so they can attempt steering of the beam. regards Flemming ------------------------------------------------------ Flemming Videbaek Physics Department Brookhaven National Laboratory tlf: 631-344-4106 fax 631-344-1334 e-mail: videbaek@bnl.gov ----- Original Message ----- From: <Beavis> To: "Flemming Videbaek" <videbaek@bnl.gov> Sent: Friday, August 31, 2001 4:18 PM Subject: Fw: 0.9 mr > > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "william w mackay" <mackay@bnl.gov> > To: "beavis, dana" <beavis@bnl.gov> > Sent: Friday, August 31, 2001 3:15 PM > Subject: 0.9 mr > > > > Dana, > > I did a calculation for a 0.9mr crossing angle with beta*=5m > > and sigma_z=1m and get about 2/3 of the luminosity with a zero > > degree crossing angle. > > > > Regards, > > Waldo > > >
