    Dear all,

after a terrible evening yesterday fighting against software (not
very surprising), I finally produced some preliminary PID with H1.

The result can be found here:

    http://www.nbi.dk/~ouerdane/cal/H1.html#PID

A very preliminary and rough estimation of the proton ratio gave me about
    0.48 ~ 0.5 at this setting (FFS at 4 deg., 1/3 field)

But I've cut directly on the mass2 and didn't make any vertex restriction
(might be a small bias between positive and negative).

    For the NBI guys:

    the root files are in

    ~ouerdane/brahms/cal2001/pid and are called:

       pidPos4246_4280.root
       pidMinus4283_4395.root

do ls -lrt to get the lastest files, the rest is bull.

For the analysis, I used some unofficial brat (mine :) which is on rcas in
    ~ouerdane/brat

The scripts to produce these files are in ~ouerdane/cal/tof/pid

    The reconstructed files are in:
    /brahms/data08/igbdata/reco/R<run>

the name of a signle sequence is: reco<run>seq<seq>.root
you can also find the histo files and some files called vtxCheck<run>.root
for each sequence (to check offset between TPM1 and BB small tubes).

In the analysis, I've put some severe condition on the vertex location:
    TPM1 track vertex chi2 < 20
    |bb small tube - track vertex| < 5

Ian, if you happen to use my brat, you can modify this in BrTofPidModule
and make a not so strict selection (the stat will increase a lot if you
don't require the TPM1 vtx...but do select only the BB small tube vtx,
    it's corrected for the offset).

Last but not least, C1 is included but didn't have time to check...

I have to catch a plane very soon. So to all of you who contributed to
this work, many thanks and I will see you in 3 weeks.

    So long
    Djam
