Dear all, I read Michaels proposal to use the Cerenkov detectors from NA44 at the back of the MRS. While I agree with Michael that it would be wonderful to enhance our PID in the MRS, it is not completely clear to me how useful the NA44 C1 and C2 would be due to their rather limited (compared to, say TOFW) acceptance. Thus, placing them behind TOFW, which is what I think was proposed, will help, but only in roughly 15% of the acceptance. Has any thought gone into trying to put C1 or C2 between TPM2 and TOFW? This would, I suppose, be a logistical problem, but would increase the acceptance by some margin I am too lazy to calculate.
