Hello, Even before all of the photons from Hiro's last message regarding the different ways of putting you personal stuff into HPSS had reached my eye, I tried the htar. It failed the first time, but then I did a kinit (since I have keys set up, I don't automatically have a kerberos ticket), and tried again from my top directory with htar -cf kris-backup-20Aug2003.tar ./ and it worked for a while. As far as I can tell, it worked because I logged on with pftp and was able to find the file I put there. Just sharing experience.
