Ok the cal. problem is now solved - it had nothing to do with the DC
calibrations. The reason for the crash was ... crash. Even though the
bramreco user had the newest brat in the path an old one (2.3.8) was used
- this is because crash on afs uses a bratmain wrapper that sets the
environment variables to the afs path...(in case you didn't know).
