Hi Steve, [shifted to brahms-dev-l] On Fri, 12 Apr 2002 10:04:33 -0500 "Stephen J. Sanders" <ssanders@ku.edu> wrote concerning "Re: calibration and reconstruction guide": > Although the brat guide is good, specific examples such as provided > by Djamel are extremely useful how things are actually done. The focus of these two documents are different: [1] `The Hitchikers Guide to BRAT' is about software development and design, and the general use of the system. It does not address issues like how to make good m^2 cuts, what makes a good TDC/ADC gain calibration, and so on. That is outside the scope of that document. [2] `Guide for Reconstruction and Calibration' is about how to do analysis, and does answer questions on cuts, and the like. [3] `MRS Spectra' is about a specific kind of analysis, and hence much more a HOWTO than `The Guide'. Other experiments publish `Handbooks', which contain something like the above two documents, plus stuff on physics, and God knows what. At some point, it would be nice to have such a thing in BRAHMS - however, for the time being, we must satisfy ourselves more fragmented documentation.
