    I know that Jeffery isn't really asking for a full event display, but
    I tought I'd pick this oppertunity to write a few words on the status
    of event displays (for there are many) for BRAHMS.

    Currently, we don't have a really fancy event display for all the
    detectors. There's however a couple of packages:

    * MONITOR

      Started by Kris. I believe not so much an event display as an
      experiment monitor.

      [BRAHMS CVS: brop/monitor]

    * TPC3D

      Started by Alv. This shows the hits, clusters, and local track of
      a TPC in 3D and projectsion, but can also show a 3D view of all the
      TPCs and magnets.

      [BRAHMS CVS: brop/tpc3d]

    * TPI - TPC Pedestal Inspector

      Started by Jens. I guess the name says it all. I don't know how
      this is related (if at all) to TED.

      [BRAHMS CVS: brop/tpi]

    * RICH2D - RICH 2D Event Display

      Started by Alv. I'm not familiar with this one.

      [BRAHMS CVS: brop/rich2d]

    * TED - TPC Event Display

      Started by Jens. Shows histograms off the TPC data. I'm not really
      familiar with this, so there may be more features.

      [BRAHMS CVS: brahms_app/jij_app/ted]

    * MRSMONITOR

      Started by Claus. A monitor for the MRS. I don't know it, but I
      guess it shows tracks and so on.

      [BRAHMS CVS: brahms_app/cej_app/mrsmonitor]

    * BRED - BRahms Event Display

      Started by myself. An event display package for use with
      `bratmain'. The idea to make a modular event display, much like
      BRAT, possibly showing all the data (RDO, tracks, ladida) from
      BRAHMS. Using a simple GUI, you can click your way through the
      events, inserting filters (like trigger, centrality, vertex, ladida)
      to select what kind of events you want to see.

      Currently, there are modules for the TPCs, TMA, SMA, and triggers.
      Skeleton modules for all the rest of the detectors are there too.

      In terms of an Offline event display, I think this is the way to go
      (I would say that, wouldn't I, having designed it in the first
      place), and I'd like to encourage people to flesh out the modules.

      I used much of the geometry from BRAG. Hopefully the new
      and-soon-to-be-released ROOT geometry and simulation interface can
      help us a lot taking all this a bit further (I know I'm looking
      forward to see what's in that package).

      I think this is the closest we are to a fancy full event display,
      unless someone has something lying around in some hidden corner of
      the world.

    All our stuff uses ROOT and the ROOT GUI classes, and so may not be
    appropiate for what Jeffery wants. However, using Carrot [1] on an
    Apache server, one can probably do some tricks.

    Probably Flemming :-).
