    Dear Peter,

I trust as said before this is a cernlib library problem, and believe to
have demonstrated this last week just before all our problems with pii3
broke out, and was about to send a message about this
    The test were done twofold

    a) using the default /cern lib that the autotools find (i.e. 2001) and
    b) configuring FROM SCRATCH using
       configure --with-cernlib-dir=/opt/brahms/cern/2000/lib
(as noted in an updated REAME file)

The former fails executing the test in
      brag/run
      exec setup#fail
if you trigger a few times you observe particle stopping at the interface
between D1 and the D1 field clamp.
You you run b) it works in total accordance with my old observation where
the link on the pii's which goes
    to /cernlib i.e. a local copy of 2000 works.

I have no intension to figure out why it does not work - since the cernlib
2001 is compiled installed by our atlas friends
    and out of our control.

    Flemming
