Ian, I logged back on to investigate your problem and I could not access afs. That is either good news or bad news and I don't know which. If your problem happens because you ran into the same problem (brahms afs down for about 1 hr now), it will in all likelyhood be ok when you get up. If it is my problem, it is bad news because with afs down, I cannot access it to work on it and I will undoubtly have another message from you when I get up. I assume you were able to start root in which case you were probably working before afs went down. In any case I can't do anything right now.
