BRAT2 configure problem

    I've finally got around to trying out the latest and greatest BRAT2, and
    I've stranded on a probably quite basic problem. I can't get the
    configuring-tools to do what they're supposed to - my ./configure crashes
    with an error cuased by not finding config/ltconfig (see complete
    screendump below). I'm running a
    > Linux brahms 2.2.17-14 #1 Mon Feb 5 18:48:50 EST 2001 i686 unknown
    with
    > gcc version egcs-2.91.66 19990314/Linux (egcs-1.1.2 release)
    though the problem is the same on a
    > gcc version 2.96 20000731 (Red Hat Linux 7.0)
    machine (yes, the HATED version of gcc).
    
    This probably has some very easy fix - could someone help me out?
