Because the operator account home directory moved, BRAHVO broke (it has built-in paths for libraries and config files) and had to be rebuilt. The rebuilt program turned out to NOT be the same as what we used. Aparently a newer version of BRAHVO has been available for some time but the operator account was not updated. The updated program was tested, but if problems surface please contact me IMMEDIATELY. Here is the list of changes: - location of config files is no longer built in, but is instead specified on the command line. - no longer uses the libBrahvo.so shared library. All dot-o files are statically linked. This should prevent further problems with shared library search paths, etc. - still dynamically links with ROOT shared libraries on /afs. This will become a problem if anything goes wrong with AFS. - the Makefile was somewhat simplified (no more building of shared libraries, simpler dependancies, several bugs fixed). - as delivered, the new BRAHVO has a bug in the logger threading code that causes intermittent startup failures. This problem was fixed by disabling the logging feature (the logging thread is not started). -- Konstantin Olchanski Physics Department, Brookhaven National Laboratory, Long Island, New York olchansk@bnl.gov
