Hi Flemming and others, Flemming, before I commit my work, I'd like to tell you a bit about my changes in gbrahms: as I wanted to get a feeling of how my PID stuff worked with the MRS arm, I 've changed the TOFW geometry setup, but more deeply than what I told you in previous emails. I understood the spirit of your setup but then, I faced some problems, still because of a unique name you assign to several different volumes. To make things working for me, I simply replaced tofw_no_panel_types by tof_no_panels and made the needed changes in function of that (in src/mids/bd_tofw.F, eg_tofw.F, inc/geo_tofw.inc and finally user/write_geom_defs.F) What I have now is 4 panels called TFP1, TFP2, TFP3, TFP4 each of them containing 21 slats (TFT1 for TFP1, TFT2 for TFP2 and so on). I know that this is not the original idea and if people don't want to follow mine then they're invited to make the necessary changes to respect the original scheme, but my version of gbrahms works fine, I get hits correctly and I 've made the corresponding changes in gbr2c.f for the cdat file. I can now digitize, process a PID and so on for TOFW and MRS arm . At this stage, the parameters of these 4 panels in DetectorParameters.txt are just a copy of those of H1 and H2. We therefore need some new sets of parameters for future analyses. Now, I'd like to get your opinion (and from others too if they like) before commiting all that stuff (if you agree, I'll do it tomorrow).
