Magnet Checklist L3

Go to the RHIC X-term computer and find the 'Magnet' control window.  Avoid starting a duplicate window.

Click on Diagnostics, then Check Readback Mode.  A message with the present value will be added to the message log at bottom of window.

If Readback Mode is set to A, no further action is needed.  If it is B a pop-up will ask whether it should be changed.   If normal running, click Yes, if CAS is working on PS, click No.  

Go to the Magnet Monitoring Program on the 'MAGMON' computer.

Is there a black arrow in window 'MobitorMagnet.vi'? Black arrow?

If NO, click on the 'arrow' to start the VI. Double click on the 'Magnet Monitoring' icon on the desktop if there is no 'MobitorMagnet.vi' window.  
Look at 'Measured I' and 'Measured V'. Are the values fluctuating (around zero when the magnet is off)? Values fluctuating?

If NO, exit 'LabView' and double click on the 'Magnet Monitoring' icon on the desktop.   
Go to the front face of the Magnet Power Supply in the utility building, look at the thermometer. Temperature is:

If the temperature is ~30 deg. C, try to increase the airflow in the utility building by opening doors etc.   
Look at 'StatusStringM' in the window, does the string say 'Off'? Magnet is

If the magnet is 'Off' you can ignore 'Fault' or 'Component Fault' messages.
