Installing the PMC using CMZ
The Phobos Monte Carlo is available in both CVS and CMZ repositories at present (August
1997). The CVS version will be the standard in the future. In the interim, the three ASCII
files in this directory allow you to install V2.03/01 of the PMC from the CMZ library and
run it with a full suite of compile, link, and run procedures that work under OpenVMS (on
VAX and Alpha), DEC OSF1 (Alpha) and AIX (IBM). Earlier releases were tested also on HP
and Sun platforms.
Click on a filename to download it to the machine running your browser:
- install.doc (size: 12 kB) contains step-by step instructions
for extracting, compiling, linking and running the PMC.
- expho.kumac (21 kB) is a macro that can be executed under CMZ
to extract all required files from phosim.car through an interactive query-response
dialogue.
- phosim.car (1.5 MB) is a CMZ car-format ASCII file that
contains the entire PMC library, including more documentation and the two files above,
which have been extracted here for the benefit of users unfamiliar with CMZ.
- phosim.tar.gz (341 kB) is a compressed archive file
containing phosim.car, gcdes.car, and zcdes.car; after downloading use 'gunzip
phosim.tar.gz' and 'tar xf phosim.tar'.
- phosim.zip (340 kB) is a VMS version of phosim.tar.gz; after
downloading use 'unzip phosim.zip'.
You can download these files using ftp directly by ftp-ing to
phobos-srv.lns.mit.edu and setting the sub-directory to /web/Detectors/Computing/Pmc
