Rcf is sending out mail on this. Please start using the kerebos autenticatain into RCF. See the instrauctions below. It has to be different than your old NIS password, and must be at least 8 characters. Flemming ******************************************************************************** * * * On July 21, the RCF will be moving to Kerberos 5 based passwords, replacing * * NIS/UNIX passwords as the primary authentication mechanism. Starting on that * * day, you will be able to use your Kerberos 5 password to log into the RCF. * * Although your NIS/UNIX password will continue to work, you are urged to * * start using your Kerberos 5 password as soon as possible so that we can * * expedite the transition to a single password/single sign on system at the * * RCF. * * * * You will find your Kerberos 5 password in your NFS home directory in the * * file named NewKerberos5Password.txt. Use this password and the passwd * * program on the Ssh Gateways to change your Kerberos 5 * * password to one of your choosing, then delete the NewKerberos5Password.txt * * file. Note that it will take about 5 minutes for your new password to * * propagate through the facility. * * * * More information about Kerberos 5 at the RCF can be found at the RCF website * * * * http://www.rhic.bnl.gov/RCF/UserInfo * * * ******************************************************************************** ------------------------------------------------------ Flemming Videbaek Physics Department Brookhaven National Laboratory tlf: 631-344-4106 fax 631-344-1334 e-mail: videbaek@bnl.gov
