BRAHMS Analysis Meeting 22 Dec 2009 ==================================== Present: ======== JH, Ramiro, Flemming, Casper, Michael, Kris Agenda and slides ================= http://indico.cern.ch/conferenceDisplay.py?confId=77304 update on pp pythia F.Videbaek d/p with lambda feed-down Michael & Casper update on pp pythia F.Videbaek ================================== Flemming has made a first systemaDc view on the different Pythia tunes for 62 and 200GeV concentrating on dN/dy comparisons for total INL cross sections. Note tunes seem to increase by 10% for pions whereas data increases by 25%. There seems to be similar problem for the kaon. Our 4pi yields are 30% below quoted 4pi yield at ISR. They assumed that the slope of the kaon spectrum had no Pt dependence. JH worried that Pythia is most likely at low Pt. (Also dN/dy from protons is completely off) General message is that energy dependence is not well described. Flemming asked Kris about his large pion yields (1.5 at y=0 which is out of line with the systematics). Kris is looking at different functions. In previous tries Levy (Tsallis) was the same as power law. d/p Michael and Casper ====================== We have included plots of the correction factor for weak decays vs pt, y. Michael has also rewritten the text that deals with the feed-down correction. The general message is that the feed-down correction varies very slowly with rapidity and does not change the main conclusions of the paper. Michael and Casper now invite general comments on the paper which is on the agenda. A few comments were made at the meeting: Ref [22] Fung Q should be upper case. Acknowledgements, steal from Correction factors should be only one line. Abstract deuterons in abstract. Names: I.C. Arsene Make a version with line numbers, (LIne number style), line number sty file. google it. Take acknowledgments from new stopping paper but remember that Polish grant number is not correct. Ramiro: d-A =========== Ramiro had a small setback on d-A. He has lost his match of runs with cross talk and those with not. He has to recreate these normalization constants for each run. He has a web page for d-A analysis http://www4.rcf.bnl.gov/~bramreco/mainpage.html There has been a new set of calculations for the RdA from the Mc Clarren group. AOB: Next meeting Wednesday 6th. ----------------- Submitted by Michael Murray --------------------------- _______________________________________________ Brahms-l mailing list Brahms-l_at_lists.bnl.gov https://lists.bnl.gov/mailman/listinfo/brahms-lReceived on Tue Dec 22 2009 - 10:57:39 EST
