Minutes of BRAHMS Analysis Meeting 29 May 2009 ============================================== Present: Flemming, Ramiro, Chellis, Pawel, Kris and Michael (Ionut could not connect because of technical difficulties) Agenda http://indico.cern.ch/conferenceDisplay.py?confId=59923 Report on dAu comparisons R. Debbe BNL update on K/pi at 62.4GeV article Ionut Arsene (Oslo) update on p/pi paper Pawel Staszel Update on d/p paper Michael Murray Note there will be no meeting next week because of the RHIC/AGS users meeting. However we will have a phone conference to discus Ionut's work on Tuesday. Updates on p/pi draft: Pawel ============================ Got corrections and contributions from Joe, Kris, Ramiro and Dieter and Zbigniew.Updated version (including draft and figures) have been added to cvs at ../brahms/papers/2009/ptopi_plb The paper committee found the data to be solid. They requested a study of the isospin effect to in interpret Fig 7, ie why p/pi+ vs Pt is the same in pp as AuAu. AMPT find no difference between pp and nn. Todo: AMPT for np He will give more discussion to Figs 3 and 4, since they seem a little disconnected. He will also try to put more physics into the abstract. In his slides he showed a new A hydro calculation by Bozak. This has an equation of state with a cross over while he thinks Hirano has a phase transition. Todo: (We should check on this with Hirano himself). Bozak is working on calculations with higher mu_B. Note Hirano says that his calculations do not include the transport of baryon number. Above 2GeV Hirano's curves drop below the data. This seems to be because he is turning on jets at 2GeV. Ramiro: d-Au ============ He was checking consistency of Houg-yan, his old analysis and his new analysis. There was a factor of 2 descrepency. He looked at min-bias at y=0 since he can there compare to Phenix. His analysis seems low with respect to Hongyang who aggress with PHENIX. So far, he found that, at least for the MRS analysis, he does not handle the (track- INEL) cut correctly. (The vertex position is not centered on zero, currently he is at -8cm). Flemming thought that this was strange since the vertex should have been calibrated with tracks from the TPC. Update on d/p paper Michael Murray ================================================= Michael added more PID stuff and cleaned up the text. He will include the formula for the ring radius vs momentum. We should decide which journal it is going to. There were several useful comments from the meeting that Michael will incorporate. Flemming has looked at the deuteron Pt spectra and they are between 1 and 5 10^-4, ie comparable to Caspar's. He may be able to look at the proton spectra this weekend but if not it will be another two weeks. Caspar can make B2 and the phase density from Flemming spectra. Todo: Michael continue on text and references. Todo: Caspar make contact with Flemming about spectra. =========== Minutes submitted by Michael Murray =================== _______________________________________________ Brahms-l mailing list Brahms-l_at_lists.bnl.gov https://lists.bnl.gov/mailman/listinfo/brahms-lReceived on Fri May 29 2009 - 15:45:25 EDT
